If you are travelling with a pet, we recommend that you check before your departure with your airline regarding:
- the transportation options available,
- the type of cage to use;
- how to prepare your pet for travel,
- any applicable restrictions and fees.
Some airlines may also require that your pet be placed in its carrier before you arrive at the check-in counter.
Upon your return, if your pet travelled as cargo, you must pick it up at your airline’s cargo service. For specific procedures, please contact your airline directly.
If you are importing an animal into Canada, additional requirements may apply. We invite you to consult the information provided by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) on its website.
