The Sunflower is an internationally recognized symbol for non-visible disabilities, also known as hidden disabilities or invisible disabilities. Passengers can choose to wear the Sunflower lanyard when travelling through the airport to indicate to airport staff that they may need support, assistance or just a little more time in the airport.
The program does not entitle travellers to special treatment or expedited security screening; rather, it serves as a reminder to airport staff to be more compassionate, to set aside time to provide extra assistance, and to enable travelers with these invisible disabilities to feel comfortable and confident.
If you need assistance during your flight, the airline will be best placed to help you; you should also ask your airline for specialized assistance after the flight.
