The antigenic test analyzes the presence of virus proteins in a nasal sample. The result is available in 15 minutes.
The test currently being done in Quebec analyzes the presence of virus genes in a nasal sample (nasopharyngeal PCR test). It is valid for 72 hours.
The antigen test is less intrusive than the nasopharyngeal test and is approved by Health Canada.
Who can do the antigenic test?
Antigenic testing at YUL is available to travelers to a country where antigen testing is accepted. Passengers must validate the requirements of the country they are traveling to.
